Boyfriend to Hold Japanese Debut Showcases Starting on June 30

 

Boyfriend will begin their four days long debut premium showcase “First Date with Boyfriend in Japan” at the Budokan, Tokyo, Japan. The Budokan can hold up to 10,000 people in the audience simultaneously and with Boyfriend’s four days of performing at the Budokan, many experts are optimistically expecting to see four full houses in a row, gathering 40,000 fans. This is the largest scaled debut showcase for a Korean artist in Japan.
Previously, Boyfriend released limited edition album “We are Boyfriend” on June 6, topping Oricon Weekly chart on June 18 with the album. “We are Boyfriend” is a repackaged version of Boyfriend’s previous album in Korea. Starship Entertainment, Boyfriend’s agency, commented, “Although a lot of Japanese fans already have a copy or more of Boyfriend’s Korean album, we still managed to take the first place in the Oricon Weekly chart. We interpret this as the growth and expansion in Boyfriend’s fan base in Japan. Boyfriend will try harder to satisfy all the excited fans.”
Boyfriend’s Japanese debut single “Be My Shine” will be released on August 22. Meanwhile, Boyfriend recently released their new mini album “Love Style” and officially started their promotion in Korea for this summer.

Boyfriend climbs to the #1 spot on Oricon’s Weekly Foreign Music Chart

6-member idol group Boyfriend is currently in the spotlight as a rising K-Pop star of the next generation.

On June 20th, Boyfriend’s agency Starship Entertainment revealed that the Japanese version of “We Are Boyfriend” released on the 6th as a prelude to their official Japanese debut had climbed to #1 onOricon‘s weekly Foreign Music Chart.

The album ‘We Are Boyfriend’ is a package of three singles that have been previously released in Korea.

“The fact that [Boyfriend] rose to the #1 slot on the Foreign Music Chart despite many Japanese fans already possessing a lot of Korean albums is quite meaningful, as it means a new fan base is broadly developing,” Starship said.

Boyfriend has signed an exclusive contract with major Japanese agency Bing Entertainment, the home to top Japanese celebrities such as Zard, Mai Kuraki, and more.

The boys will be also launching their premium showcase ‘First Date With Boyfriend In Japan‘ at the Budokan on June 30th to officially kick off their Japanese promotions.

This is quite a large-scale showcase for a Korean artist, and Boyfriend has definitely captured the attention of those in the Japanese music industry.

Furthermore, Boyfriend will also be releasing their Japanese debut single “Kimio Hanasai” on August 22nd.

BOYFRIEND ranks No.1 on Japan’ Oricon Western Music Chart, ‘New Star’

 

 

BOYFRIEND has been seeing an increase in popularity as the new global K-pop stars.

Starship Entertainment said that the Japanese limited edition ‘We are ‘BOYFRIEND’ ’ released on the 6th placed first on Japans’ Weekly Oricon western music chart prior to their Japanese debut.
Boyfriend will be making their official debut with their premium showcase, ‘First Date with Boyfriend in Japan‘, at the Budokan, on June 30th.
Also, Boyfriend is going to release their Japanese debut single ‘BE MY SHINE’ on August 22nd.

Boyfriend’s optical illusion selcas receive attention

Along with their recent comeback for “Love Style“, the Boyfriend members are receiving attention online for their selca skills.
On June 19th, Boyfriend shared the above picture by posting “In celebration of our ‘Love Style’ comeback! Revealing a proof-shot…” via their official Twitter. The shot showed a fun optical illusion of Kwangmin holding up leader Donghyun with just one hand. After viewing the picture, the netizens seemed to have fun as they responded with, “A skilled person for real“, “I wonder how they did it“, “Optical illusion selca is stylish too~~!“, and “‘Love Style’ is going to be daebak.”
Meanwhile, Boyfriend is topping the charts with “Love Style” and is hard at work promoting their new album.
